Starting next month, Instagram will offer users translated versions of posts and bios written in languages other than their own, the company has announced.
The translations will work similar to those on Facebook; when you encounter a post or a bio written in a language other than yours, you'll see a "See Translation" button -- if your language is available for translation.

In the coming month, you’ll see a translation button on feed stories and profile bios written in languages different from your own. The Instagram community has grown faster and become more global than we ever imagined. And we’re excited that you’ll soon be able to understand the full story of a moment, no matter what language you speak. To learn more about translation on Instagram, check out help.instagram.com.
The news comes hot on the heels of Instagram's announcement it has reached 500 million monthly active users. The photo-focused, Facebook-owned social network has a very strong international presence, with more than 80% of its users being outside of the U.S. as of June 2016.
Besides Facebook, another major social network that offers translations is Twitter, which launched the Microsoft Bing-powered feature in January 2015.
