President Trump is playing host to French president Emanuel Macron this week and that means a return of awkward public displays of affection from a president who seems to have difficulty with basic human interaction.

There was much pomp and circumstance to celebrate the arrival of Macron, who's accompanied by his wife, Brigitte. There was also plenty of Trump fumbling, something that goes -- literally -- hand-in-hand with his being around Macron.

After the two leaders made speeches heaping praise on each other and kept referencing the American Revolution and the Marquis de Lafayette, they exchanged an extended, awkward bro hug.

Perhaps in an effort to put to bed any suggestions of a handshake rivalry, Trump embraced Macron and gave him the traditional two-cheek kiss but some of the captured moments still come off as, well, not exactly natural for the president.

Things continued to be awkward later when, meeting in front of the press in the White House, when Trump pointed out Macron's dandruff and tried to be helpful.

Key word: Tried.

Trump brought the awkward broing down BACK, if you can believe it, during this very bizarre handshake exchange following Macron's comments at their joint press conference.

If anyone is breathing a sigh of relief right now, it's Brigitte Macron who shared an incredible, cringe-inducing moment with Trump last summer when the Trumps visited France. But there's still time for the president to change all of that, as the Macrons will be guests for Trump's first state dinner on Tuesday night.
