The iPhone X is finally in peoples' hands, and right on cue, some thirsty idiotscustomers are already dropping their $1,000 phones on the concrete... for testing purposes, of course.
Why you'd ever intentionally destroy an iPhone X is beyond me, but I guess somebody out there needs to test how durable Apple's newest phone is.
SEE ALSO:The iPhone X camera vs. every iPhone everOne such video recently uploaded to YouTube shows a dude willfully raising his iPhone X above his head, then dropping it straight to the ground, letting it smash on the concrete and shattering most of its rear side.
Needless to say, even the strongest types of glass can't survive this kind of drop. After the first drop in the video, the iPhone X's edge-to-edge display mostly remains crack-free except for a few nicks in the corners.
After flinging it in the air another time, the glass back is shattered, exposing bits and pieces of the hardware. The dude then goes up to the phone and rips out the wireless charging component from the back. Yikes!
It's extremely cringe-worthy and another great reminder that these new iPhones are way more fragile than last year's models. You should definitely buy a case for your iPhone X, even if you hate using one. You should also get AppleCare or some kind of device protection plan. Otherwise, you're gonna be hurting from Apple's insane out-of-warranty repair costs.
And because this is the internet, and because this is a new iPhone, there are plenty other idiots dropping their new iPhone X's -- most of which look like fake dummy models -- in hopes of going viral. That AdSense money better be worth it.
But our favorite drop test to surface today is easily this kid's. It's totally100 percent legit:
Gotta give the kid credit for creativity, right?
