Captions make photos so much more fun, so it's smart that dating app Hinge has just started letting users write them on their pictures.
You can now add both captions and locations to any of the images that are displayed interspersed with the text in your profile. (Photos from Facebook and Instagram will populate the information automatically.) It’s definitely worth spending the extra few seconds to think of something to say, since Hinge’s beta-testing found that photos with captions got two times as many likes as those that didn’t.
It may not be as splashy as Bumble’s new 10-second video feature. But instead of having to master an entirely new medium, they’re a great low-key way to add a little more of your voice and personality where it counts.
So seize your opportunity to throw in a little of your weird sense of humor or expound on your obsessive love of spiders. (Actually, maybe don’t do that?) But most importantly, this is your chance to clarify which one is you in any given photo, lest someone assume you’re the less attractive person next to you.
