Apple should just start its own jewelry line at this point.
After several years of dominating the smartwatch market, Apple is reportedly considering the development of a smart ring similar to the already-launched Oura ring. This information was disclosed by an "industry insider" to Korean outlet ETNews.
Keep in mind, however, that Apple Insider has noted that ETNews doesn't have a particularly strong track record in predicting Apple's future ventures.
The sourcing is admittedly thin, but Apple doeshave several patents related to smart rings. One could theoretically use the Apple Ring to control other Apple devices. Plus, as one might expect, it'll likely help you keep an eye on your health metrics, aid with location tracking, and more.
It almost certainly won't do as much as an Apple Watch due to the lack of a real screen, but hey, it might be more stylish.
Oura has already been in the smart ring business for a few years now, while Samsung teased its own "Galaxy Ring" at Unpacked earlier this year. Whether you like it or not, it seems like this is the way the wearable business is going.
