The rumored, super-quick version of Tesla's Model 3 will reportedly come with a number of improvements that make it very different from previous 'Performance' variants.
A slew of new leaked photos, shared on social media (via Teslarati), show parts of the new car's exterior and interior, and a short video even shows some of the menu items in the car's main user interface.
Leaker and Tesla enthusiast Nic Cruz Patane summed up the new features in a tweet. A short video, making the rounds on social media, contains a (very) quick run through the car's menus.
First, it appears that the new Tesla M3 will have three drive modes: Chill, Sport, and Insane. Despite previous rumors, there's no 'Ludicrous' mode, begging the question whether the car's official name will end up being 'Ludicrous' at all.

Other new features include Active Suspension (with two modes: Standard and Sport), automatic shift between forward and reverse (as seen in pricier Teslas, such as Model X), and minor cosmetic changes such as the ‘Ludicrous’ badge in the software menu (the name and visuals come from the 1987 comedy Spaceballs).
Interior changes include sportier seats, and a carbon fibre dash inlay, while the exterior has a redesigned, more aggressive styling on the front, and a carbon fibre spoiler on the back.
SEE ALSO:Tesla Autopark is getting a new name, and it's very LOTRThere's no word on the price, but if the new reports are accurate, the 'Ludicrous' Tesla M3 will be a very different beast than the M3 Performance variants which were available prior to the Highland redesign. The M3 Performance of old was faster than the other M3s, and it came with a carbon fibre spoiler, better brakes, and a few other, fairly minor upgrades. The rumored new 'Ludicrous' model seems to be a proper upgrade over Tesla's regular M3 and Long Range M3, and if the price is reasonable, it'll probably be a hit.
